Description
What type of wine it is
Colli di Luni Albarola by Lunae is a still white wine from Liguria with a Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) status, vinified and aged in steel, featuring a clear and refined aromatic profile. The Albarola grape variety offers a bouquet where fresh notes of pineapple and lime stand out, interwoven with delicate white flowers and balsamic hints of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it expresses a distinct sapidity capable of balancing the lively acidity, while the sip is harmonious and balanced. The finish offers a medium citrus persistence, making the tasting pleasantly refreshing.
Where it comes from
This wine is born on the hills of the Colli di Luni appellation, in an area situated between the Apuan Alps and the Ligurian Sea coast. The roots of the vines sink into fertile soils influenced by the Magra River, benefiting from constant sea breezes that ensure an ideal microclimate for the health of the clusters. Historically used in the region's blends to add freshness, Albarola today finds the perfect environment in these valleys to express its potential. The influence of the Mediterranean climate gives the wine its typical and recognisable territorial imprint.
How it is produced
Production begins with a cold maceration on the skins for about eight hours, essential for extracting the aromatic richness of the Albarola grape without losing its vibrancy. This is followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks, which ensures maximum precision of the aromas. Finally, the wine matures through ageing on fine lees for five months; this contact with the yeast gives the profile an elegant structural roundness, making it ideal to accompany delicate seafood risottos or carpaccios.
History and interesting facts
The Colli di Luni Albarola 2025 by Lunae Bosoni celebrates Ligurian tradition by enhancing this ancient indigenous grape variety, historically known as “calcatella” due to its tight clusters. Rooted between the Apuan Alps and the Ligurian Sea, this variety was once used in blends to add liveliness; today, however, it is vinified as a single-varietal to fully express its unmistakable territorial sapidity. Every glass offers a harmonious sip, embellished with fresh notes of Mediterranean scrub, citrus fruits and white flowers, faithfully reflecting the essence of the Colli di Luni.

Cantine Lunae deepen their roots in the millenary hystory of this land and people, whose great vine-growing and wine-making tradition have inherited. Etruscans, or perhaps Ligures and then Romans, were the first to grow vineyards in the surroundings of the beautiful Luni, the "Moon City".
These lands have given birth to our vineyards, to our passion, to our wine!
