Description
Wine style
Livio Felluga's Colli Orientali del Friuli Friulano is a still white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, vinified in stainless steel, with an authentic personality. Produced from Friulano grapes, it appears canary yellow with green highlights. On the nose, it is intense and multi-faceted, characterised by hints of white flowers, citrus, and apple, with fresh notes of sage, calamint, and ginger. On the palate, it reveals itself as soft and harmonious, balanced by a pronounced savouriness and a calibrated freshness. The tasting finishes with a persistent mineral trail and the typical bitter almond aftertaste, notes that make it ideal for pairing with cured meats, cheeses, and seafood dishes.
Origin
This wine is born in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, specifically in the Brazzano di Cormòns area. The vineyards thrive on soils composed of the classic flysch of marls and sandstones of Eocene origin, a geological formation that imparts a strong character to the grapes. This terroir is fundamental for defining the savoury profile and the clear mineral vocation of the wine. The Livio Felluga winery manages the vineyards using the Guyot training system to best capture and express the pure varietal expression of the territory, protecting the natural elegance of every bunch.
Production method
Production begins at the end of September with a hand harvest conducted at the moment of perfect grape ripeness. After gentle destemming and a short maceration, the process continues with pressing and clarification of the must through decantation. Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel preserves the delicate aromatic nuances of the fruit. An ageing period of six months on the fine lees in the same steel tanks follows, an essential step to provide mouthfeel creaminess and structure. The production cycle concludes with a necessary resting period in temperature-controlled rooms.
History and interesting facts
Livio Felluga's legacy is expressed in this elegant white wine, the result of six generations of oenological dedication. Produced in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, the grape variety, historically known as Tocai Friulano, encapsulates the authentic essence of Brazzano di Cormòns. The historic Map featured on the label symbolises the winery's deep and unbreakable bond with the land. This prestigious bottle masterfully combines history and passion, offering in the glass an unmistakable identity of memory that continues to fascinate over time.
